Welcome to Focus On Missouri 2012:
Connecting Policy, Practice and Research
As we enter our third annual statewide college access conference, we hope to continue to build on the conversation and networking that have made this conference a success in previous years. This year’s conference will look at the intersection of research, policy, and practice. We hope to raise questions around the effective and efficiency of our services and practices through education, research and engagement by exploring how to connect research, policy, and practice in ways that promote evidence-based practice in the field. We also hope to continue to share “best practices” and innovative collaborative efforts that are making a difference around the state.
Focus on Missouri 2012: Connecting Policy, Practice, and Research will bring together key stakeholders to focus on preparation, access, and persistence/completion through the lenses of policy, practice, and research.
We again anticipate a wide variety of participants including access providers, funders, secondary and post-secondary educators and administrators, policymakers, and researchers. The conference will offer a one-day format with keynote addresses, interactive workshops and discussions, and the “Show Me Access Gallery” -- a showcase of access providers and other educational partners and their tools that are helping change the landscape of access and success.
